EF-Start

Frequently asked questions

What is the EF-Start challenge?

EF-Start is an exceptionally challenging 7-day remote experience designed to accelerate your entrepreneurial career. You will design an ambitious agenda for your week, and then spend 7 days delivering on it. You will be in a cohort of other exceptional future founders who will support and challenge you through your week.

What will I do during the challenge?

Through the week, you will work on your agenda individually. We have the following group touch-points:

  • Kick-off call;
  • Daily stand-ups;
  • Upload a short video each day to track your progress;
  • Provide further evidence of your progress;
  • Upload final presentations.

In addition, we are interested in how you are able to support and challenge others, and identify exceptional talent. You should allocate roughly 3h over the week to giving feedback to your peers on our platform. You will also be invited to a Discord community for realtime collaboration.

What should I work on?

We encourage Starters to define their own challenge. It is important that:

  • Your challenge is ambitious, and can feasibly be done in a heroic lift over 7 days.
  • It should demonstrate (or help you refine) your edge.
  • It is on your path. If you do this challenge and we don’t select you, you will have no regrets because the work will make you more likely to succeed anyhow.

Who is EF-Start designed for?

The majority of Starters are current students or recent graduates who have not yet formed a company, and have not yet identified a cofounder.

If you are already working on something, or have cofounders already, you should feel free to participate individually.

To be eligible for selection into our US program you should have the legal right to live and work in the US. If you do not have this right, you may still participate in EF-Start, yet you will not be eligible for our US program and so will not be invited to a selection day in San Francisco. We also consider applicants to our UK, Bangalore and Bridge (global) programs through EF-Start.

I am working/studying and can’t commit as much time as I’d like

We want to see what you’re capable of in the time that you have. If you have other obligations, you should be upfront about these and work around them.
